Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary targets BJP, says “LoP has become spokesperson of Raj Bhawan”

KINS Desk

Srinagar, Oct 15 (KINS): In a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Wednesday accused the party of neglecting the real issues of Jammu and Kashmir and instead ‘aligning too closely with the Raj Bhawan’.

“The BJP should have talked about the people of Jammu and Kashmir, but. It is for the first time in J&K’s history that the Leader of opposition (LoP) is acting as the spokesperson of Raj Bhawan,” Surinder Choudhary told reporters, as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

The Deputy CM also said that an important administrative file has been pending with the Lieutenant Governor’s office. “A crucial business rule file is lying with the LG and is not being cleared,” he said, describing it as a ‘gridlock hampering governance in the Union Territory’.

Taking a swipe at certain political figures, he remarked, “Some people who have crores of rupees in banks are now seeking shelter in political parties.”

Expressing respect for Peoples Conference leader Sajad Lone, the Deputy CM said, “I have great respect for Sajad Lone. He is the son of a father who contributed immensely to Jammu and Kashmir. I appeal to him—say whatever you want, but your language should remain soft. His father was known for his grace and dignified speech.”

When asked about the BJP’s announcement of candidates for the upcoming by-elections in two seats of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, “The vote has to be given by the people, and they will decide. Nagrota has already seen what happened when Jammu chose 28 MLAs. Look at the condition of roads there—only talks and lollipops, nothing else.”

Praising the electorate in Budgam, he said, “The people of Budgam are wise and decisive. They know who they want to win. Will they choose those who took away our statehood, employment, and spread corruption in the name of development? We will win because the people can see the truth.”

Calling the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections a decisive political test, he said, “This election will determine who stands with the BJP and who stands with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. If you are against the BJP, then give your vote accordingly.”

He concluded, “The NC–Congress alliance is strong and will remain so”.(KINS)
