Srinagar, Nov 12 (KINS): The Office of the District Magistrate, Srinagar, has issued an important advisory urging the general public to remain vigilant and adopt precautionary measures to prevent fire incidents during the ongoing winter season.

With the onset of winter and the increased use of heating appliances, the administration has called for strict adherence to safety guidelines to minimize fire-related accidents in residential and commercial areas.

The advisory as per news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) emphasizes that all electrical heating gadgets, stoves, bukharies, and LPG gas stoves must be switched off or unplugged properly before going to bed or leaving the home. Residents have also been advised to handle kangris with utmost care, particularly during the night, and to store dry grass, firewood, and other combustible materials away from residential buildings.
