Srinagar, May 13 (KINS): In a move aimed at enhancing cybersecurity and safeguarding financial transactions, the Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has introduced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the JK BEAMS Portal using the Sandes SMS service.
According to an official circular issued by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Shailendra Kumar, the new authentication mechanism has already been activated in the live operational environment of the portal.
The department has directed all Director Finances, Financial Advisors, Chief Accounts Officers, Accounts Officers, Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), as well as Maker and Checker users to strictly follow the newly introduced security protocol.
Officials said the implementation of MFA is intended to strengthen the security framework of the JK BEAMS online system by adding an additional layer of verification for users accessing the portal and carrying out official financial operations.
The Finance Department has asked all concerned officers and users to ensure full compliance with the updated security measures to prevent unauthorised access and improve the overall safety of the digital financial management system.(KINS)
