J&K Govt forms special officer groups for AI projects under India AI Mission

Srinagar, May 13 (KINS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted department-wise groups of officers to ensure the timely implementation of selected Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects under the ambitious India AI Mission.

According to an official government order, the decision was taken following deliberations held during a meeting of the Union Territory-Level Steering Committee on Artificial Intelligence on April 7 this year.

The order stated that the officer groups have been tasked with overseeing the execution of AI-based initiatives in various government departments with clearly defined timelines and measurable targets.

Officials said the move aims to strengthen the use of technology-driven governance by utilising existing departmental data and digital infrastructure for the effective rollout of AI applications across sectors.

The government has directed the designated teams to focus on practical, on-ground implementation of the identified AI use cases to improve efficiency, public service delivery and administrative functioning.

The initiative is being implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the nationwide India AI Mission aimed at promoting the adoption of Artificial Intelligence technologies across the country.(KINS)
