Kashmir Gulookar Society to hold tribute for scholar Zahoor Ahmad Parray
Srinagar, July 4: The Kashmir Gulookar Society has announced a memorial programme in remembrance of noted scholar and cultural figure Zahoor Ahmad Parray, recognising his lifelong contribution to preserving Kashmir’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
According to an invitation issued by the organisers, the tribute will be held on July 12, 2026, at Nawa Bazar, Shorgari Mohalla, Srinagar. The event is expected to be attended by scholars, writers, artists and members of civil society, who will pay homage to Parray’s legacy and his role in promoting Kashmiri language and culture.
The organisers described Parray as a “cultural pillar and guardian of our heritage”, saying the gathering will celebrate his enduring contributions to the intellectual and cultural landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
