Baramulla Police issue SOP regulating media access at official events

Srinagar, July 16 (KINS): Police in Baramulla have issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regulating media access during VVIP and VIP visits, official functions, religious gatherings, public events and other occasions involving police deployment.

According to the SOP, only journalists carrying valid identity cards issued by the District Information Officer (DIO), Baramulla, will be allowed entry into designated venues, media enclosures and other restricted areas.

Police personnel posted at access control points have been directed to verify the identity cards of all media representatives before granting entry. Those claiming to represent print, electronic, digital or social media without a valid DIO-issued identity card will not be permitted access.

The SOP has come into immediate effect, with all supervisory officers instructed to ensure its strict implementation.

Police said the guidelines are intended to strengthen security arrangements while ensuring smooth, orderly and hassle-free media coverage of official events and security deployments.(KINS)
