India Crowned Overall Champions at the 18th WEKAF World Championship 2026
New Delhi, August 6: The 18th WEKAF World Championship 2026 concluded with a spectacular Closing Ceremony today at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, marking the successful completion of four days of thrilling international Arnis competition from 1st to 4th August 2026.
The championship brought together athletes from 13 countries, showcasing exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and the true spirit of martial arts. The event further strengthened the bonds of friendship and unity among participating nations under the theme “Uniting the World Through Arnis.”
Host nation India delivered an outstanding performance throughout the championship and was proudly declared the Overall Team Champion. The Philippines, the birthplace of Arnis, secured the Runner-up (2nd Place), while Australia finished in 3rd Place, completing the championship podium.
The Closing Ceremony was attended by distinguished international and national dignitaries, officials of WEKAF International, team managers, coaches, referees, athletes, and guests from across the world. Medals, trophies, and certificates were presented to the deserving winners, recognizing their remarkable achievements and dedication.
Speaking on the occasion, the Organising Committee expressed heartfelt gratitude to WEKAF International, all participating countries, government authorities, sponsors, volunteers, technical officials, referees, coaches, and athletes for making the championship a grand success. Special appreciation was extended to everyone whose unwavering support and commitment ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
