J&K Police attach residential house in Shopian over alleged drug trafficking proceeds

Shopian, Aug 30 (KINS): In a continued crackdown on the drug menace, J&K Police in Shopian have attached a residential house worth ₹16.77 lakh belonging to Hilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, resident of Vehil, Shopian.
According to police, the property was allegedly acquired from proceeds generated through the illegal trade in drugs and narcotics. The attachment has been carried out in connection with FIR No. 80/2024 registered at Police Station Shopian.
The proceedings were conducted in the presence of a police team, Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, with police stating that all prescribed legal procedures were followed.
Police said the action reflects its continued efforts to curb drug trafficking by targeting both those involved in the illegal trade and the assets allegedly generated through such activities. The public has also been urged to share information about drug trafficking and related activities with the police.(KINS)
