Militancy Will Be Wiped Out In Kishtwar Soon: DGP

In the wake of an brief shootout between militants and security forces in Kishtwar, police today said that few elements have been active in the area against whom action will be taken sooner.

Director General of Police Dilbgah Singh said that a very few elements were active in Kishtwar from the past and four to five persons associated with those elements to revive militancy in Kishtwar.

“These elements are trying to increase the number of militants in Kishtwar, but police and security forces are making efforts to not let the militants grow, and will wipe out them soon,” DGP told reporters.

He said that the investigation into the killing of Parihar brothers is “almost complete and all the accused have been identified.”

“Police is not investigating the incident. But the agency probing it has almost completed the investigation and has identified all the accused involved in the crime,” he said.

The DGP said that police will install CCTVs to increase surveillance for peaceful atmosphere and better security of the people. (KNS)
