Banning civilian traffic on highway for 5 hours unjustified: KHCBA  

Srinagar, July 1 : The Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Monday express its concern over the banning of civilian traffic on Qazigund-Nashri stretch of the Jammu-Srinagar Highway from Monday, for five hours, in view of Amarnath Yatra.

In a statement issued here, the Kashmir’s lawyers’ describes the same to be unjustified and unwarranted and sought the removal of the ban, as early as possible. “It is going to cause unnecessary restrictions to the civilians travelling from Srinagar to Jammu and vice-versa,” reads the statement.

The lawyers’ body also expressed and sorrow over the tragic road accident at Thakrie area of Keshwan in Kishtwar District, in which 35 persons lost their lives and 16 others sustained grievous injuries.

While expressing condolence with the bereaved families, the Bar Association prays for the eternal peace of those, who died in the accident and also for the speedy recovery of the injured.
