Inhabitants of Kashmir villages are poor: Governor

SRINAGAR, Aug 1: Governor Satya Pal Malik on Thursday said that every leader who runs any State should focus on the people’s economic conditions.

After inaugurating the medical College in Baramulla, the Governor while talking to the media said that every leader who runs state administration should primarily focus on underprivileged sections of the society. He said that there should be general attitude of every political leader to reach out to this section for overall development of the state. He said that efforts are on to make Jammu and Kashmir a better place to live.

The Governor said that everything in Jammu and Kashmir is normal and people should people should not pay any heed to the rumors.

Asked about ceasefire violations on LoC, the Governor said that the security forces on this side of the LoC are more vigilant than their opponents and they are giving a befitting reply to any ceasefire violation by the Pakistani forces.
