Srinagar police solves theft case, accused arrested

December 19: Police Station Sadder received a written complaint from one person namely Abdul Latief resident of Abrahim Colony Parraypora wherein he stated that some unknown burglars have stolen money approximately 16 lacs and gold worth Rs. 1.5 lacs from his house.

Accordingly, a case FIR No 214/19 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, it was learnt that one individual Haneef Ali Mandal son of Maqbool Mandal resident of Bangalpora Assam, who was working as domestic help in the house is involved in the crime.

A special team was constituted by SP City South for investigating the case. The team located and arrested the accused from Assam.

When the officers spoke to him about the commission of crime, he revealed of his involvement in the crime.

On his disclosure, Rs. 787200 cash and 04 gold coins were recovered from his possession. Account of the accused containing 2,94000 believed to be proceeds of the crime has also been freezed by the authorities.

Further investigation is going on in the matter.

Police has resolved to act tough against those who indulge in such crimes. Community members are requested to share any information pertaining to crime in their neighbourhood.
