Div Com Kashmir reviews developmental scenario of Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 24: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today reviewed developmental scenario in the district here at a meeting of district and sectoral officers.

The District Development Commissioner Hashmat Ali Khan presented a Power Point Presentation regarding the ongoing projects under several sectors including languishing projects and Capex budget achievements.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADDC Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CPO Ganderbal, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD besides all District Officers, Heads of Several Departments and other concerned.

The Div Com took stock of establishment of Drop Box in Panchayats, progress on languishing projects and works executed under the Back to Village Programme, Jal Jeevan Mission, stock position of essential commodities, redressal of grievances, progress of Re-registration of schools, implementation of flagship programmes and coordination with BDCs, Sarpanchs and Panchs while framing development plan in the district.

The DDC informed the meeting that out of 71 projects approved at Rs 206.54 crore, 5 projects have been completed and Rs 13.216 crore expended so far.

The Div Com stressed on adhering to the set time frame for the completion of all the languishing projects with special emphasis on maintaining the quality of work.

Regarding establishment of Drop Box in Panchayats, the DPO informed that Drop Boxes have been installed in all the 26 Panchayats of the district.

The Div Com directed the DDC to frame a roster of employees to collect the grievances from the Drop Boxes on weekly basis and take follow up to the redressal of grievances registered by the people.

Reviewing the stock and supply position of food grains in the district, the AD food informed that adequate stock has been dumped at 19 identified dumping sites for the winters.

Regarding Re-registration of schools, the CEO informed that 100% Re-registration of schools has been achieved in the district.

Taking review of power sector, the Div Com asked the PDD authorities to take necessary measures to augment power supply in the district during winters.

While reviewing the LGs directions regarding accountability and punctuality in Government offices, The Div Com directed the DDC to assign the officers for taking weekly inspections of the offices and for obtaining feedback from the public regarding delivery of public services by the government functionaries.

He also asked the DDC to check over stay of officers posted in the district and ensure their reshuffle.

The meeting also reviewed the functioning of internet kiosk established at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

The Div Com also sought details about the identification of land for establishment of new colleges, hospital and industrial estate in the district.

Regarding coordination with BDCs, Sarpanchs and Panchs the Div Com urged for taking them on board during plan formulation so that they are involved in the development progress of the district, saying that government is trying to empower them as they have public mandate.

Later, the DDC also raised several issues which include filling of vacant posts, fencing of canals of major Hydro Power rojects, Breach of Malshahibagh Canal, beautification and protection of river sides of Duderhama Bridge and Land compensation issue of Pandach-Beehama Road.

The DC also requested for the recovery van to cater the need at Zojila pass during harsh weather and during Yatra. He requested for electric buses for the district. The Div Com assured him that 3 buses will be sanctioned for the district to augment the transport facility.
