Two persons slip from upper reaches of Khag forests, die

Srinagar, May 5 : Two persons died on Tuesday after they slipped from a mountain in Nagbal Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Station House Officer (SHO) Khag Gowhar Gul told that the duo namely Mushtaq Ahmad Wani (45) son of Ghulam Hassan Wani and Abdul Rashid Shah (50) son of Ghulam Ahmad Shah had gone to the Dadnard forest area–the upper reaches of Nagbal for collecting the Morel Mushrooms (Gushi).

As per reports received from locals of the area, the duo slipped from the mountainous region, SHO said. The officer said that the duo, residents of Nagbal died on the spot.

The SHO said that after conducting all medico-legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to legal heirs for last rites.

“Inquest proceedings under 174 CrPc has been initiated and further investigations were taken up in this connection,” the SHO added.(GNS)
