Navratra arrangements discussed at Kathua


KATHUA, OCTOBER 3:- District Development Commissioner Kathua Om Parkash Bhagat today convened a meeting of officers of various departments to discuss arrangements being put in place for celebration of Navratri festival in the district.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including sanitation, uninterrupted electricity, ensuring regular and safe drinking water, security arrangements, traffic management, medical facilities, check on the rates and quality of food items.
The DDC emphasized on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in and around the temples. He directed the concerned officers to repair the bridle paths leading to the temples and shrines. The Jal Shakti department was dirwcted to ensure regular supply of drinking water at the shrines and important Yatra path routes. For uninterrupted electricity, PDD was directed to ensure power supply to all the shrines.
Health department was directed to make medical facilities readily available at all the shrines with first aid kits, life saving drugs and team of doctors and paramedics. The CAPD department and Municipal Committee were directed to keep check on the rates of eatables around temples and shrines.
The DDC exhorted upon the management committees of shrines to strictly follow Covid-19 protocol to contain the spread of Coronavirus by adhering social distancing and santization provisions. He called for stern action against the use of polythene near temples and directed concerned departments to take action against the defaulters.
Members of management committees, Pujaris of temples and shrines projected various problems and demanded installation of high mast lights around the shrines.
The DDC passed directions to the concerned officers to redress issues highlighted by the stakeholders at the earliest.
ADC Basohli, ASP, ACD, ACR, AD FCS & CA, Executive Engineers, all other concerned officers of the concerned departments were present in the meeting.
