Sports Festival updates

Srinagar, Nov 05 (KINS):As a part of Police Sports Festival, closing ceremony of Cricket tournament “Martyr Raja Saleem Anwar Memorial Cricket Tournament” was held at S.K Stadium Bandipora and in Sopore 4 matches of Cricket were played at Khushaal Stadium Tulibal and MET ground.

In Bandipora, the closing ceremony event was attended by ASP Bandipora Shri Ashiq Hussain Tak besides, DySP Hqrs Bandipora, DySP DAR Bandipora were also present on the event. The weeklong event in which 12 teams participated was formally started on 21st October 2020.

The final match was played between BCC Bandipora and DPL Cricket team which was won by DPL Cricket team in super over. Aatif Ahmad of DPL Cricket team was declared as man of the match whereas Parvaiz Ahmad of DPL Cricket team was declared as man of the series.

ASP Bandipora in his address to the participants said that police is providing many opportunities to the youth to showcase their talents, be it sports events or other talent hunt initiatives. He emphasized upon the participants to nurture their talent and channelize their energy in more positive way.

Later on, a prize distribution ceremony was held and cash prizes of Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 was given to winner team and runner up team respectively along with trophies and appreciation certificates.

In Sopore, matches were played between Craze 11 Sopore v/s Saripara 11, Nowpora Cricket Club v/s Sopore Institute, Brothers 11 Mundji v/s Saidpora 11 and Rawoocha Royals v/s Kralteng 11 which were won by Saripara 11 by 6 wickets, Sopore Institute by 7 wickets, Saidpora 11 by 2 runs and Rawoocha Royals by 31 runs respectively.(KINS)
