Awantipora police claims, ‘it arrests militant associate; Incriminating material and explosive substance recovered’


Srinagar, Jan 01 (KINS): Police in Awantipora claimed to have arrested a militant associate and recovered incriminating materials including explosive substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here the police said that “Awantipora Police along with 42RR and 130Bn CRPF arrested one militant associate of proscribed militant outfit LeT. He has been identified as Aqif Ahmad Teli resident of Cherso Awantipora”.
“As per police records he was involved in providing shelter, logistic and other support to the active militants, besides transporting arms & ammunition in Awantipora & Tral areas. He was also involved in recruiting local youth in militant ranks and distribution of money. In this regard, the bank transactions of the arrested militant associate are also being investigated”.
“Incriminating material of proscribed militant outfit LeT and other explosive substance has been recovered from his possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation”.
“In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 02/2021 under relevant section of law stands registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated”. (KINS)
