SAKSHAM scheme: Chairperson DDC Ramban, DC distribute sanction letters among 25 beneficiaries

RAMBAN, JUNE 30(KINS): District Administration, Ramban on Wednesday issued sanction letters of special scholarship and pension for 25 covid affected families under Special Assistance Scheme for COVID-19 Mortalities (SASCM)/Saksham.

The benefits of the scheme were provided to 13 children in the shape of scholarship and Pension benefits to 12 families whose sole bread earner died due to Covid.

The Special Assistance Scheme for Covid Mortalities (SASCM)/Saksham to provide scholarship to two children and monthly pension to the dependents of the family of COVID-19 victim has been launched by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.

Chairperson, District Development Council, Dr. Shamshad Shan and the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam handed over the sanction letters to the beneficiaries.

The DDC Chairperson interacted with the beneficiaries and thanked the UT administration for launching the scheme for those who lost their dear ones to the dreaded virus.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC Ramban  directed the District Social Welfare department to ensure that the beneficiaries under SASCM/ Saksham are provided the benefits of the scheme on priority.
