DRSC meets at Kulgam

KULGAM, JULY 06(KINS): A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat here at mini- Secretariat Kulgam.

During the meeting several decisions were taken for controlling and minimizing accidents, smooth flow of traffic and implementing effective road safety mechanisms.

Threadbare discussions were also  held on various issues including, removal of encroachment on roads,  modernization of traffic management system, enforcement of road safety mechanisms.

The DDC laid stress on identifying accident prone locations and black spots, besides initiating other remedial measures, installation of signage/ convex mirrors and generating awareness among people for making roads safer to commuters in the district.

He also passed directions for organizing special camps, workshops and awareness programmes in all the educational institutions of the district regarding road safety measures.

Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner, DySP traffic, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Chief Education Officer,  Executive Officer of Municipality, Ex. Engineer R&B, Irrigation and flood control and other officers attended the meeting. (KINS)
