Samoon reviews functioning of Polytechnic Colleges of Kashmir, CIIIT Baramulla

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 25 ( KINS ) : Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Polytechnic Colleges of Kashmir division and CIIIT Baramulla at Civil Secretariat here.

Secretary in SDD, Nazim Zia Khan; Director SDD, Sudershan Kumar; Principals of all Polytechnic Colleges of Kashmir division participated in the meeting in person and through virtual mode.

Speaking during the meeting, the Principal Secretary emphasized upon the Principals for organizing camps in their respective districts so that the student community is made aware about the courses offered in the colleges. He asked them for due publicity regarding the ongoing admission process so that more students are attracted towards these courses and no seat is left vacant. He asked the Principals of all Polytechnics to ensure 100 per cent admissions in their respective institutions.

While highlighting the need for introducing new courses in the Polytechnic colleges, Dr. Samoon delved upon the officers to formulate a plan for introduction of new and job oriented streams across all colleges so that more employability avenues are created for the students.

The Principal Secretary also impressed upon the Principals to inform the students about scholarships of AICTE with special focus on girl students. He also asked them to keep the websites of their respective institutions updated with regular updates regarding admission process and other related things on them so that students remain well informed.

Dr. Samoon also directed the Principal CIIIT, Baramulla to complete all the pending issues of the institute so that this unique centre can be utilized to its full potential.
