Two soldiers die in separate incidents in Rajouri

Rajouri, Dec 30 : Two army soldiers found dead under mysterious conditions in separate incidents in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

A police official told GNS that a soldier namely Naid Subedar Rajinder Singh of 26 Punjab regiment found lying inside army camp while performing duty at Narian, Rajouri. The soldier was later taken to military hospital by the colleagues where doctors declared him brought dead.

In another incident, Subedar Harpal Singh of 14 Sikh regiment fell down at Nowshera market and was taken to near hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he said.

Harpal was on leave when the incident occurred, he said.

“Apparently, it looks like that soldier Rajinder died due to cardiac arrest while the death of Harpal seems mysterious,” the officer said.

The officer said that in both the incidents, two separate cases under 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigations initiated. (GNS)
