Srinagar, Jan 26: Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has paid tributes to its men killed in an encounter in Srinagar outskirts on Saturday morning.
A spokesperson of the outfit Mohammad Hassan in a statement issued to news agency said the way the JeM “brave-hearts” fought Indian forces is “exemplary”.
“This gunfight once again proved that Kashmiri youth are committed in their fight against Indian forces,” he said.
Mohammad Hassan paid tributes to the JeM commander Saqib of Arihal, Tral and expressed condolence and solidarity with his family.
“Indian forces will have to pay for every drop of blood of Saqib and other martyrs. Jaish-e-Mohammad will avenge these killings,” he said, adding, “The sacrifices of martyrs will yield results very soon.”
The JeM spokesperson said the gunfight took place while India is celebrating “so-called” Republic Day and Kashmiris including those living across the world are observing the black day.
He said that strict security measures were put in place in Srinagar and other areas of Kashmir; still, JeM carried out grenade attacks on Indian forces across Valley “which resulted in death of several forces personnel and critical injuries to many”. (GNS)
