Faesal’s Crowdfunding campaign getting good response: Sources

Srinagar, Jan 28  :Former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) topper, Shah Faesal hinted towards floating his own independent political party by seeking donations from common people of the valley as he launched a crowdfunding campaign for “clean politics and corruption-free administration” in Jammu and Kashmir.

Faisal, who became the first Kashmiri to top IAS in 2009, recently resigned from the civil services to “protest against the unabated killings” and is all set to form his own independent party by seeking public donations while he asserted that he would not join any political party “as of now”.

While sharing his bank account number on social networking site, he tweeted, “Be a part of this journey for clean politics and corruption-free administration in J&K. Support Shah Faesal with your small donations,” and added that payments could also be made through e-wallet.

According to sources, Faesal is getting good response and Lakhs of Rupees were donated by people of Kashmir for Faesal’s crowdfunding campaign.

Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, Irfan Ahmad a Social activist said, “I made little donation from my side as i think shah Faisal is man who can help to solve Kashmir through dialog and i request everyone to donate for this good cause.”

Meanwhile, Faesal had posted on a social networking site facebook, “This is a people’s movement and it will be funded by people. People are the only agency who will help this succeed. Believe in me, be patient with me in this long and difficult journey and donate for this cause.”

He further said, “I had never imagined that my small act of defiance to highlight political deadlock in Jammu and Kashmir would evoke such a response across the world.I had never thought that my dream of clean politics and corruption-free administration in J&K would take the shape of a public movement.” (KNB)
