PDP leader visits Afzal Guroo’s family, Offers prayers for departed soul

Sopore, Feb 9, : Amid restrictions, Peoples Democratic Party leader Engineer Nazir Ahmed Itoo visited the family of slain Muhammad Afzal Guroo at Dobgah Sopore on Saturday.

Itoo according to party sources visited the family on the directions of party president Mehbooba Mufti.

Sources said that PDP delegation led by Nazir Ahmed Itoo visited Sopore and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. He while praying for the departed soul appealed Government of India to return the mortal remains of Guroo on humanitarian grounds.

“It is not only obligation but also mandatory for Government of India to handover the body of any accused to the family. Animosity ends with the death of a person. New Delhi should return the mortal remains of Muhammad Afzal Guroo without any delay. Denying mortal remains to family has hurt the sentiments of people of Kashmir,” Itoo told reporters outside the house of Muhammad Afzal Guroo. (CNS)
