Amid shutdown, rains CASO launched in Sopore village

Sopore, Feb 13 : Amid shutdown, rains government forces on Wednesday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Sopore village of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, SOG and CRPF conducted Door-to-door searches in the Thakkgund village of Sopore this evening.

An official said that operation was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

So far there was no report of any contact between the militants and the forces officials added.

Meanwhile all shops and business establishments remained closed across valley today while thin movement of traffic was witnessed across the valley.

Pertainally, the JRL had urged the people observe shutdown on Feb 13, 14 to protest and resist any move to change demographic nature of Jammu and Kashmir by scrapping hereditary state subject law guaranteed under Article 35-A of Indian Constitution.
