DLSA Anantnag organises Legal Awareness Programme

ANANTNAG, MARCH 18: A Legal Awareness Programme on “Cyber Crime and Right to Information” was organised today by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag, here at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Brakapora to aware and educate the student community about the their legal rights and duties.

Legal experts from the District Court informed   the students about various types of cyber crimes, their repercussions and about Right to Information.

 On the occasion, Secretary DLSA, Rafia Khaki, while addressing the gathering of students, said that they should refrain from indulging in any kind of crime and   stay aware about their legal rights and duties. She added that Right to Information Act provides a practical roadmap for gaining access to information and make public authorities accountable, which in turn promotes good governance and acts as a tool to curb corruption in the system. She further said that a student being the basic unit of the education system could act as an ambassador for developing a crime free and healthy society. She appealed the students to invest their maximum time in studies and play their role in building a corruption free society. She suggested the students to stay updated about all kinds of developments around the globe and use the tool of Right to Information Act in a positive manner. She informed that the Anantanag DLSA will hold legal awareness programmes on regular intervals to benefit the masses.

Among others who spoke on the occasion were Principal of the school Ajaz Ahmad Khan and Lawyer Mubashir Ahmad.

Students and staff of the school thanked the DLSA for organising the informative programme.
