Militant killed in a Brief encounter in Shopian village

 

Srinagar, May 10: A militant was killed after a brief exchange of firing took place between militants and government forces in Amishpora area of South Kashmir’s on Friday.

Reports reaching said that 23 Para of army and SOG had launched a cordon around an orchard in Amishpora after having a credible inputs about presence of some militants.

A senior police officer told  that while the forces encircled the Orchard the hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated by forces triggering a brief exchange of firing, as a result one militant was killed, the officer said.

The officer further said that the identity of the militant is yet to be ascertained.(GNS)
