Sopore shuts on second consecutive day to mourn militant killing

Sopore, May 11 : A complete shutdown is being observed in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Saturday for the second consecutive day to mourn the killing of local militant in a gunfight with the forces in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning.

Reports reaching Kashmir Indepth said that all shops and other commercial establishments are closed in town while public transport is also thin on the roads.
Reports said that people from different areas are visiting the residence of slain ISJK top militant commander to offer condolences to the family at Model Town Sopore.

Slain Ishfaq Ahmed Sofi alais Abdullah Bhai a top ISJK commander was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Amshipora area of South District on Friday morning.

Meanwhile as a precautionary measures authorities suspended classwork in all colleges and higher secondaries in the town to maintain law and order problem.

Pertainally, on late Friday evening authorities restored internet services in the town which was suspended following the killing of local militant earlier Friday.
