One body fished out from river Sindh, efforts on for other

Srinagar, July 06 (KINS) : The teams of Police, SDRF on Monday morning retrieved the body of one of the two drowned youth from the river Sindh in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, while efforts are on to fish out the other body.


An official told Kashmir Indepth News Agency (KINS) that teams are continuing its search to fish out body of other youth, he said after hectic efforts one body was retrieved on Monday morning.


The officer said the body of Zahid Farooq Rather was retrieved, while efforts are on to fish out the body of Rashid Khan.

Pertinently, On Sunday two boys drowned in nallah Sindh at Kichpora Kangan while bathing.


Locals present there raised an alarm, following which a team of police reached there and carried out a rescue operation to retrieve the bodies of the duo.


Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal said parents should not allow their children to go for a bath in water bodies. “People should not go into the river Sindh. Ganderbal district is already a Red Zone. I don’t know how these children reached there. We will again issue an advisory so people are restricted from taking bath there,” he told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service.


He however said it was not possible to deploy policemen everywhere along the river Sindh.(KINS)
