Sep 19: Police has continued its action against drug dealings in Anantnag and has arrested one drug peddler at a checkpoint. Contraband substances has been recovered from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Chaki Brinty in the J/D of P/S Achabal intercepted and arrested one drug peddler identified as Kaisar Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Rashid resident of Hardoo Chian Dailgam and recovered 30 ltrs of liquor and 85 Codeine Phosphate from his possession. He has been shifted to Police Station Achabal where he remains in custody.
Case FIR No. 52/2019 under relevant sections has been registered in Police Station Achabal & investigation initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
