On this Diwali PM Modi likely to visit border positions in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spent his past Diwali festivals with soldiers in different locations along the borders with Pakistan and China, this year the PM is likely to visit army positions on the Line of Control (LoC).

Last year, PM Modi had visited the border positions of Uttarakhand. After taking over as prime minister in 2014, PM Modi visited the Siachen glacier base camp on his first Diwali as the PM of India.

Every year, the plan of visit is kept secret and the place of visit is revealed only through his Twitter handle. As part of the schedule, prime minister visits the jawans and distributes sweets amongst them.
