Srinagar, Dec 04 : The class 11th students who appeared in their Chemistry paper on Tuesday complained that the paper setter had asked out of the syllabus questions in the paper leaving them in a state of despair.
According to wire service— in view of this most of the students in various exam centres couldn’t write their paper completely citing that they couldn’t attempt all the questions asked in the paper. “The pattern was completely different and the questions were out of syllabus as well. We were shocked to see such questions in the paper,” a group of class 11th students alleged.
Also, the examination staff in some exam centres also flanked the student claim saying that the pattern and type of questions asked in the paper were out of context. “We saw students in utter frustration as they couldn’t comprehend the questions,” a teacher who was on an exam duty at Kupwara district, said.
He said they called the available Chemistry lecturer as the higher secondary principal of the exam centres who also supported the student. “The student claims are justified and officials in JK board should think over it,” the teacher said. The students also accused the BOSE authorities for subjecting them to mental trauma and demanded that the exam of their Chemistry paper should be conducted once again so that students can write the paper properly.
“Our percentage will go down if we won’t be allowed to write this paper again. BOSE officials should consider our demand and reschedule the exam of Chemistry subject for students,” the students said. Meanwhile a BOSE official told that they have not received any written complaint from the students for rescheduling the exam of Chemistry paper.
“If the students have any grievance, they can submit a written representation in the Board office which will be forwarded to the chairperson or secretary for their approval,” the official said wishing not to be named as he was not authorized to talk to media.
The official said that on basis of the written complaint, the Board will constitute a committee of experts to check the content of the question paper if. “The committee will be asked to submit its report to the higher ups and further decision will be taken accordingly,” the official said. Chairperson JKBOSE Veena Pandita was not available for her comments on the issue. (KNO)
