Winter vacations in schools likely from Dec 16

The winter vacations in Kashmir schools are expected to be announced from March 16 and decision in this regard would be taken on Monday.

Commissioner Secretary Education, Sarita Chouhan told newsagency KNS that mostly probably the vacations will start from December 16. “By Monday, an order in this regard is expected,” she said.

Last year, the winter vacations were declared from the first week of December, while this year it got delayed by at least a week. The chill has tightened its grip across the Valley since last few days as minimum temperature remained sub-zero in Kashmir with dense fog, coupled with icy cold winds, creating problems for school-going children.(KNS)
