Srinagar-Jammu highway remains closed for second consecutive day

The Srinagar- Jammu highway remained closed on Saturday for the second consecutive day due to landslides and snowfall, a traffic official said.

An official said that no vehicular movement would be allowed on the highway keeping the safety of travellers in mind.

“The traffic was suspended on Friday following landslides at Ramban and fresh snowfall ,” he said.

“The decision regarding allowing the movement of traffic on the highway will be taken only after the road is cleared off by the road maintenance agency concerned and after assessing road condition,” the official said.
