Shoiab Lone quits Congress

Calls it “anti- Kashmir” party resorting to “double speak”

Jammu, Feb. 08 : Senior Congress leader and former legislator Shoiab Nabi Lone has resigned from the basic membership of the party on Saturday.

Considered as close to Syed Altaf Bukhari- who is set to float a new political outfit in the state in coming days- Lone had off late distanced himself from the grand old party before finally formally parting the ways today.

Speaking to news agency, the former MLA from Sangrama constituency in North Kashmir, accused Congress of ‘ double speak’ and claimed , the party leadership was never sincere to the people of the Jammu and Kashmir.

“They would speak one language in Delhi, other at Jammu and quite contrasting in Srinagar.” Said Lone, adding that when BJP abrogated article 370, Congress did nothing except lip service which exposed their intent. He also accused congress of diluting the article many times during their tenure reducing the same to merely a ‘ husk’.

Shoiab said that he was feeling relieved today after saying goodbye to the party which has been “anti-Kashmir” all along.
