Militant associate arrested in Kulgam

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday arrested a militant associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit in south Kashmir’s Kulgam town.


An official told Kashmir Indepth that district police Kulgam on Wednesday arrested a militant associate of LeT during a Naka checking and recovered ammunition from his procession.


The officer identified arrested militant associate as Zubair Ahmed Ganie son of Abdul Rehman Ganie of Subhanpura Kulgam.


Officer said that as per preliminary investigation the accused is involved in the transportation of LeT militants operating in district Kulgam, besides was providing shelter to militants of banned terror organization LeT. As per investigation accused was working for LeT from last more than a year. In this regard, a case FIR No 03/2020 U/S 13,18,19,20,38,39 of UAP Act and 7/27 of IAA stand registered at PS Qaimoh and further investigation is on officer added.
