PDP MP meets Modi, demands release of Mehbooba Mufti

New Delhi: After the release of former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Member of Parliament Nazeer Ahmed Laway on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded that party chief and former Cheif Minister Mehboba Mufti should also be released along with Omar Abdullah.

After the meeting speaking to IANS, Laway said, “There are two Chief Ministers and many youths who are under detention and I have demanded that all of them should be released.”

He said that the Prime Minister has assured him of more affirmative action and the detainees will be released soon.

The PDP MP has also said that he hopes “the political process in Jammu and Kashmir starts soon”. Laway hailed the Prime Minister for taking the initiative on the issue of COVID-19 and said that the Prime Minister has done good work.

On the question of Pakistan raising Kashmir issue during the video conferencing with Prime Minister modi over coronavirus, Laway said, “We should not take Pakistan seriously”. (IANS)
