Coronavirus: Police file case against ‘rumor’ mongers in B’la

Srinagar, Mar 17 : Police on Tuesday filed a case against a person for spreading rumors on social media regarding two persons having tested positive for COVID-19 in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“We have identified the elements spreading fake information about two persons testing positive in Baramulla,” SSP Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom told news agency.

He said some “elements” are spreading fake news on behalf of Principal GMC Baramulla regarding two patients with COVID-19 positive cases. They have been identified and appropriate legal action has been initiated against them, he said.

SSP said that a case under section 505 IPC has been registered and further investigations have been taken up. (GNS)
