Top Kashmir players selected for chess championship

SRINAGAR March 18 (KINS): Top senior players from Kashmir valley have been selected for State Chess championship scheduled to be held at Jammu in April 2020.

These players have been selected as per the position secured in Kashmir Province Chess championship held at TRC Dalgate from March 13 to 15 organized by All J&K Chess Association under aegis of J&K State Sports Council.

A spokesperson of the Association in a statement said Javid Ahmad Mir secured 1st position, while Sharief din bagged 2nd position.

Saleem Aijaz, Comrade Gowhar, Saad Shafi, Rashid Basher Shah,  and Mohammad Saleem secured 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th positions respectively.

In girls categories Bhat Aqsa bagged 1st  position, Syed Daraksha secured 2nd position, while Baseerat ul  Nisa  3rd position, and Munazah Mushtaq  bagged 4th position  who have also been selected for state championship .

 In U 17 category from district Srinagar, Basif Manzoor secured 1st position, Dawood Farooqi and Faizan Shabeer secured 2nd and 3rd position, respectively.

In U 13 category, Naveed Ahmad, Gashaan Ali, and Shayaan Rasool secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively.

While Ahmad Gowhar, Burooz Ibrahim and Mohammad Dayim secured first top positions respectively in U 11 category.

While as Bareeq Rafiq the youngest participant secured 1st position under 09 category and has been selected for state chess championship. In girls junior U 13 category, Shameet secured 1st position, Areeba Shabeer 2nd position and have  been selected for state chess championship. (KINS)
