93 persons booked for defying prohibitory order in Handwara

Srinagar, April 20 (KINS): Handwara Police has booked 93 persons for defying prohibitory orders over coronavirus lockdown and seized 10 vehicles.

A police official said Handwara  Police has been making efforts to ensure complete lockdown across  PD Handwara for the safety of people.

“Despite clear lockdown orders of Govt. and time to time announcements made by  Handwara  Police via loud speakers ; at least 93 more persons have been arrested and seized 10 vehicles by Handwara Police on Monday for violating the orders issued U/s 144 CrPC,” the official said.

In the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara  at least 47 persons have been arrested and seized one vehicle. A case FIR No. 128,129,131,132,133/2020 has been registered against  violators and investigation taken up.

While in the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad nine persons have been arrested in case FIR NO 36/2020 U/s 188 IPC for violating the prohibitory orders over coronavirus.

In the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam 21 persons have been arrested and seized five vehicles in case FIR NO 38,39/2020 U/s 188 IPC for violating prohibitory orders.

Similarly in the jurisdiction of Police Kralgund 16 Persons have been arrested and four  vehicles have been seized. A case Fir No 45,46/20* has been registered against the violators and investigation taken up.
