People from Jammu presently in Kashmir should apply after May 11 for passes: Div Com Kashmir

Says non-local labourers willing to go home should apply on Labour dept’s website, Kashmiris stuck in other states being gradually facilitated to return

Srinagar, May 05 : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole Tuesday said that people from Jammu who are stuck in Kashmir and want to go back, must apply online after May 11 while as those non-local labourers who also want to go back to their respective states should apply online on the labour department’s website.

In an exclusive chat with the news agency, the Divisional Commissioner said that people of Jammu region, who are in Kashmir and have no medical reason but still want to go back to Jammu region should apply after May 11.

As far as non-local labourers, who are in Kashmir and want to move back to their states should also apply online on the labour department’s official website. “They will be given passes on the due dates and then they can proceed towards their respective states,” he told.
“Maximum construction related work has been started in Kashmir and yet some non-local labourers want to go back to their homes, they should get online passes from labour department by applying online.”

He said if some people belonging to other parts of country are in Kashmir and want to go back to their respective places, they should first apply online.  And as far bringing back Kashmiri people stuck in Delhi and other parts of India, a proper mechanism is being followed. “I am getting lot of calls from Delhi from Kashmiris who want to return.

But we are going state by state and first evacuating Kashmiris from Punjab then Haryana and in the coming days, we will cover Delhi, Rajasthan and other states. Kashmiris in other parts of India willing to come back should not worry as all will be facilitated soon,” he said.

The Divisional Commissioner said that there is a home department website on which all Kashmiris stuck in various states can apply for passes. “They should wait for the their turn and all should travel on their due dates,”—(KNO)
