Soldier goes missing after leaving weapon, mobile at camp in North Kmr

Srinagar, June 7 (KINS): An army soldier has gone missing in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district after leaving his weapon and mobile at camp.

Sources told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that a solider from Adjutant of 5 Jatt went missing yesterday. Police have registered the case and taken up investigation in the matter.

A senior Police officer identified missing soldier as Afsar Singh of Uttar Pradesh.

“As per CCTV footage analysed, the soldier left his weapon and personal mobile at camp and went across the river Jhelum,” he said.

He added that it is feared soldier could have drowned in the river while trying to cross it. “But efforts are on to trace him,” he said.(KINS)
