SHOPIAN, JUNE 13: District Administration Shopian today sent 117 stranded migrant labourers to Katra Railway Station for further journey to their home state.
The labourers from Bihar were sent in a fleet of five buses in first phase while stranded labourers from other states will be sent in subsequent phases.
The buses were sanitized before boarding by the stranded people and proper physical distancing was maintained inside the buses.
Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammed Yasin informed that financial assistance of Rs 500 was provided to each person before boarding buses besides they were also provided breakfast, packaged food and water and masks.
