Minor boy drowns in river Jehlum at Srinagar

Efforts on to retrieve his body

Srinagar, June 22 : A 13-year-old boy on Monday afternoon drowned in river Jehlum near Bilal colony in Qamarwari locality of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Eyewitnesses told news agency— that some boys were taking bath in the river body when the kid drowned.

They said that soon after the incident, local police and a team of SDRF reached the spot.

Meanwhile, an official said that a team of SDRF and local police were on the job to trace the body of the minor boy. 

He identified the minor boy as Mohammed Arif Sheikh son of Tariq Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Babapora Barthana locality of Qamarwari—(KNO)
