Cross border shelling across LOC’s in Kupwara, Poonch

SRINAGAR, August 07(KINS): Armies of India and Pakistan on Friday exchanged gunfire along the line of control in two sectors in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources told KINS that both neighbors exchanged gunfire in the Kupwara district of Kashmir and in Poonch district of Jammu Divison on Friday morning.

An army official told KINS that today morning Pak initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms & shelling with mortars along LoC in the Balakote sector of Poonch. He said this side Army retaliated befittingly.

The officer said in another cross border shelling in Keran sector of Kupwara both armies exchanged gunfire on early Friday.

He said in both sectors no loss of life was reported, however, minor damage to property was reported in the Poonch sector.(KINS)
