Ensure safety, security of people, LG tells security agencies

Srinagar, Oct 02 (KINS): The Lieutenant Governor Manooj Sinha has laid stress on the need to ensure safety of the general public in the Union territory.
Sources told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that LG Sinha gave the direction to all the security agencies in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
“ Manoj Sinah was given an assessment of the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir wherein he laid stress on real time coordination between security forces and agencies for ensuring safety of the people,” sources maintained.
He (LG) advised the administration to give due consideration to the genuine needs of people in the current scenario.
Sources said that Lieutenant Governor further emphasised on the need for constant alertness, preparedness and synergy among various departments and agencies to enable dealing with an emerging situation in a coordinated and effective manner.
“The LG reiterated the need to constantly maintain a close watch on the ground situation and underlined the importance of sustained efforts to bring peace and harmony in the society for the overall benefit of people,” sources maintained.
Sources said that the LG lauded the role of Police and CRPF in maintaining law and order and ensuring security in J&K and advised heightened surveillance on all fronts to ensure safety and security of the people.
Sources said that top officials have also briefed the LG about the present internal security situation and many important matters relating to law and order in J&K.
Sources said that he also emphasised upon the vital importance of regular review of the security situation and also discussed various issues relating to welfare of security personnel and their families.(KINS)
