Ganderbal police organizes Cricket tournament

Srinagar, Oct 04(KINS): The police Sunday said that in order to inculcate & promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations, besides taking forward youth friendly policing initiative particularly in rural areas, Ganderbal Police is going to organize Cricket tournament-2020.

The statement issued to news agency KINS said that Ganderbal Police is going to organise district level Cricket Tournament for which on-spot registration of teams was done today in Qamaria Ground Ganderbal in presence of Additional SP Ganderbal and DySP Hqr Ganderbal.

These sports tournaments are organized by Police Ganderbal to explore the talent/capability of youth to prove themselves and to spread the message of Peace. In the tournament 134 teams from all blocks of district came forward for registration out of which 64 teams were selected through on-spot draw of lots, which will be played on knock-out basis.

SSP Ganderbal ,Shri Khalil Poswal-JKPS congratulated the selected teams and wished them good luck. He also hailed the overwhelming response shown by the youth of Ganderbal and said that J&K Police has always been on the forefront in providing a platform to the youths to excel in sports by organizing such mega sports events.

Community members and youth of the area have appreciated the efforts of Ganderbal police and expressed hope that police will provide them similar platform in future to show case their talents.(KINS)
