Srinagar, Oct 27 (KINS): As a part of Police Sports Festival, ten matches of Volleyball, Football and Cricket were played at Khushaal Stadium Tulibal & MET ground Sopore, four matches of Martyr Altaf Memorial T-20 Police Premier Cricket League were played at Qamaria Stadium Ganderbal and Shallabugh ground and 4 matches of Cricket and Volleyball were played in DPL Handwara besides, semi-final matches of under-19 cricket tournament “Play for Peace” were played at S K Cricket Stadium Srinagar.
In Sopore, 05 matches of Volleyball, 02 matches of Football and 03 matches of Cricket were played at Khushaal Stadium Tulibal and MET ground Sopore.
Volleyball matches were played between Amargrah Volleyball Club v/s Zaingeer Seniors, which was won by Zaingeer Seniors, Nowpora Volleyball Club v/s Brothers Volleyball Mundji which was won by Nowpora Volleyball, Zaingeer Juniors v/s Hib Dangerpora Volleyball Club which was won by ZaingeerJuniors, Rohama Volleyball Club v/s Bakhipora Volleyball Club which was won by Rohama Volleyball Club and Hygam Volleyball Club v/s Tarzoo Volleyball Club which was won by Tarzoo Volleyball Club.
Football matches were played between FC Doabgah v/s FC Reshipora which was won by FC Reshipora and FC Hamdan Sopore v/s Elites Warpora which was won by FC Hamdan Sopore.
Cricket matches were played between Shagoo Sports Sopore v/s Shining Star Sopore, which was won by Shagoo Sports Sopore by 38 runs, Reban 11 v/s Wonder Boys Gund Kareem Khan which was won by Reban 11 and DC 11 Dangerpora v/s Towes Club Janwara which was won by Towes Club Janwara by 4 wickets.
In Ganderbal, four matches were played at Qamaria Stadium Ganderbal and Shallabugh ground on the 20th day between XI Friends Kangan V/S Libra Legends Saloora, SSP XI V/S Kangan Cricket Club, UCC Kachan V/S XI Brothers Gangerhama, Shallabugh Blasters V/S Baba Gund Lions which were won by XI Friends Kangan, SSP XI, XI Brothers Gangerhama and Shallabugh Blasters.
In Handwara, on the 7th day of ongoing sports festival organised by Handwara Police different matches of Cricket, Volleyball, Carrom & Chess were played at District Police Lines Handwara.
Three Cricket matches were played between Green Shirts v/s Boys H.S.S. Handwara, DPL Handwara v/s Khan Sports Langate and Ramhal 11 v/s Lucky Sports Wadder which were won by Boys H.S.S. Handwara, DPL Handwara and Lucky Sports Wadder.
Volleyball match was played between Young Boys Waddipora v/s Volleyball club Dudipora won by Young Boys Waddipora.
In Srinagar, semi-finals of under-19 cricket tournament were played between Hazratbal Strikers V/S KMR Tigers Harwan and Friends 11 Barzulla V/S Khanyar Knight Riders which were won by KMR Tigers Harwan and Khanyar Knight Riders. SSP Srinagar Dr M. Haseeb Mughal-JKPS was chief guest on the occasion. He interacted with the players and asked them to uphold the character of the game and exhibit the best spirit of sportsmanship. Zonal SsP, DySP DAR Srinagar, DySP Headquarters, SDPO Nehrupark and other senior officers of the District were also present on the occasion.(KINS)
