LG inaugurates center of invention, Innovation, incubation at Srinagar


Srinagar, Dec 07 (KINS): Centre for Invention, Innovation & Incubation (CIII) a joint collaboration between Indian Army, UT Govt of Jammu & Kashmir & Tata technologies Ltd (TTL) was today inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in an e-inauguration ceremony.
Army in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that the project will bring qualitative improvement in the field of technical education in UT of J&K.
“It is an ultramodern state of the art facility, aimed to provide high end facilities and support to engineers, promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship and supporting technology start-ups” the statement reads.
“The project will facilitate the creation of a pool of skilled manpower like engineers and technicians which will augment the industrial growth and in turn increase the employment avenue for the Kashmiri youth. The project also witnessed a unified effort of the Indian Army and the civil administration in ensuring timely completion of the center. The center will offer courses for the students in the field of  ITI Diploma, B. Tech, M. Tech, etc to enhance their skills in line with current industrial needs and future technology trends. Initially, 18 majors courses are being introduced with an intake capacity of around 2880 candidates. Each batch will have a strength of 10-30 candidates. The center will strengthen industry academia partnership and will bring quality improvement in the technical education” it reads.
“This first of its kind project has been completed in a record time despite facing all the challenges posed due to of COVID-19 pandemic. The center is also a testimony and prime example of the prowess of the unified efforts of all the stakeholders including the Indian Army, Civil Administration & private sector enterprises, making it a reality in very short span of time for bright future of the Kashmir”.(KINS)
