Illegally detained today third-time in less than a fortnight; Mehbooba tweets

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KINS): PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that she was again barred at her Fairview Gupkar residence by authorities amid ongoing DDC polls.
In a tweet Mehbooba said, “Illegally detained today for the third time in less than a fortnight. Too much democracy indeed”.
Criticiting the move, she said “If my movements are curbed due to ‘security concerns’ then why are BJP ministers allowed to campaign freely in Kashmir while I’ve been asked to wait until culmination of DDC elections?”.
Notably the former chief minister was also barred on Tuesday ahead of her visit to central Kashmir’s Budgam areas where she was intending to meet those families who had been evicted by J&K Government from their land.
Last week Mehbooba was planning to visit PDP youth leader Waheed Parra’s Naira Pulwama residence to meet his family, however she along with her daughter Iltija was disallowed and kept under house detention.
